While messing around on her photocopier Bella Freud spied the date 1970 printed in the corner of a page of the book she was leafing through. Inspirited, she kept blowing it up, then cut it out and pinned it onto her jumper. It had a rough charm that made her think of the early New York punk scene in the 70 s, and Patti Smith, and became her staple ever since. Her merino wool knit has a fine handle, making it easy for layering over in the winter.
